In her first interview following her separation from rapper King Kaka, Nana Owiti opened up about a whirlwind year filled with challenges and triumphs.

Speaking with warmth, honesty, and a dash of humour, Nana shared how she is navigating this pivotal phase in her life.

When asked how she’s holding up, Nana didn’t mince her words.

“We’re hanging in there, you know,” she said, showing the strength and resilience needed to push forward through personal upheavals.

A Year of Highs and Lows

Looking back on 2024, Nana described it as “one of the most difficult and also the best years.”

She acknowledged that the year has been a mix of highs and lows, highlighting the effort it takes to stay balanced.

“Balance is an illusion. The more you chase it, the more it evades you. So, I just always say, do the best you can whenever you can,” she said.

Finding Strength in Faith

Nana credited her faith as a cornerstone of her resilience, sharing how it has provided her with clarity and grace during difficult times.

Expressing gratitude, she revealed that her spiritual beliefs have been a vital source of stability as she adjusts to her new chapter.

2024’s Soundtrack

When asked to pick a song that defines her year, Nana confidently chose DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win,” reflecting her determination to find victories despite life’s challenges.

Love for Kenyan Music

Shifting to lighter topics, Nana enthusiastically discussed her love for Kenyan music.

She praised Anguka Nayo, a track that captured the nation’s heart and became a celebratory anthem for the Junior Starlets after their victory over Mexico in the U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Although she admitted, with a laugh, that she struggles to dance to the hit, Nana remains an ardent supporter of the song and its energy.

2024 also marked Nana’s first experience trending on social media—though it wasn’t a moment she enjoyed.

“You guys made it viral for me,” she said, playfully scolding her audience while laughing at the experience.

“I’ve never trended in Kenya, and I did for the wrong reasons. I don’t like it. You guys are bad!” she joked.

Embracing Life’s Journey

Nana Owiti’s journey this year has been nothing short of remarkable.

With her faith as an anchor and a determination to embrace life’s ups and downs, she continues to show that even in the face of adversity, there’s space for joy, gratitude, and growth.
