  2. During his time at Middletown High School, he batted .408 with 18 home runs and 103 runs batted in (RBIs). He also established himself as a standout football player at Middletown and garnered 2nd Team All-Ohio Honors as a linebacker his senior year.
  3. As a freshman at Indiana University Bloomington, Kyle Schwarber was named a freshman All-American by Louisville Slugger and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper after hitting .300/.390/.513 with eight home runs and 47 RBIs.
  4. During his sophomore season in 2013, he hit .366/.456/.647 with 18 home runs and 54 RBIs in 61 games. Also, he was named a first-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
  5. He batted .348/.456/.643 with 13 home runs as a junior as well as was a finalist for the Johnny Bench Award.
  6. Kyle Schwarber played for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) during the 2012 college offseason. His side eventually emerged as the winner of the league and Schwarber was awarded the playoff’s Most Valuable Player award.
  7. In the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, he was picked by the Chicago Cubs in the first round (fourth overall).
  8. Although he was described as a “game-changing” power-hitter by MLB.com analyst Bernie Pleskoff, the analyst was critical of his base-running and fielding skills and commented, “Schwarber is sluggish on the bases and slow defensively”.
  9. In 2014, Kyle Schwarber made his professional debut with the Boise Hawks, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
  10. He was then promoted to the Kane County Cougars of the Class A Midwest League and the Daytona Cubs of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League by the Chicago Cubs before the end of the 2014 season.
  11. His 2015 season started with the Double-A Tennessee Smokies of the Southern League and he went on to play in the All-Star Futures Game in July 2015 and was named the MVP of the game after hitting a go-ahead two-run triple for Team USA.
  12. During the 2017 season, he picked “Schwarbs” as his nickname for the Players Weekend.
  13. It was announced in June 2019 that Schwarber would join the CCBL Hall of Fame class of 2019.
  14. It was announced on January 9, 2021, that the Washington Nationals had signed Kyle Schwarber to a one-year major league contract containing a mutual option for 2022.
  15. Kyle grew up as a Cincinnati Reds fan.
