Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platinumz has sparked outrage among Kenyan fans after failing to perform at the Furaha City Festival, where he was marketed as the headline act.
The highly anticipated festival, organized by Baraza Lab, took place at the Nairobi Polo Club on Friday, December 6.
Diamond arrived in Kenya alongside fellow Wasafi artist Zuchu ahead of the event, raising excitement among fans eager to see him perform.
The event boasted an impressive lineup of renowned Kenyan and Tanzanian artists, including Zuchu, Khaligraph Jones, Rayvanny, Ssaru, Mejja, Femi One, and Willy Paul.
While most of the expected performers delivered electrifying sets, Diamond was notably absent from the stage despite reportedly being present at the venue.
Comedian Terrence Creative voiced his disappointment, calling out Diamond for letting down his fans.
“Thanks, Diamond, for disrespecting your fans’ feelings at Furaha City Festival. Ipo siku utatuhitaji pia,” he lamented. “Diamond has hurt our feelings,” he added.
Fans are still left in the dark about why Diamond failed to perform, especially since there was no official explanation from the artist or the organizers.
The no-show has left many fans frustrated, questioning the reliability of such events and performers.
The Furaha City Festival remains a memorable event for the impressive performances from other artists, but Diamond’s absence as the headliner cast a shadow over an otherwise vibrant celebration of music.
