Akothee, a proud single mother of five, has weighed in on the ongoing marital drama between Sarah and Simon Kabu, advising them to keep their private lives off social media.
The couple is reportedly filing for divorce. Documents seen by Mpasho allege that Sarah Kabu has accused her husband, Simon, of subjecting her to physical and emotional abuse during their marriage.
Their issues became public when CCTV footage surfaced online, allegedly showing Sarah shoving another woman.
Sarah claimed the video was intentionally leaked by Simon to tarnish her reputation.
Simon, however, refuted the allegations, stating in an interview that the woman in the footage was his professional nanny, while confirming Sarah was the other person in the clip.
In response, Sarah challenged Simon to disclose the identities of the women involved.
Akothee, who has been married twice, shared her perspective on social media.
She emphasized the importance of handling sensitive marital issues privately, rather than airing them in public.
“The problem here is the relationship between a husband and a wife where emotions, children, and property are involved. It’s not employee/employer issues. Don’t mix the two. Someone is emotionally damaged; be mindful,” Akothee began.
Known as the Self-Proclaimed President of Single Mothers, Akothee cautioned the couple against seeking validation from social media users, whom she referred to as “online in-laws.”
“I urge both of you to step away from social media and stop trying to appear as the innocent ones. People don’t want evidence to set you free. All the evidence you share will be used to bring you down. If that’s not enough, they will burn you, drag your children into it, and take sides,” she wrote.
Akothee advised Sarah and Simon to consider the impact of their actions on their children and family.
She warned against using social platforms to damage each other’s reputations, as the consequences could be long-lasting.
“Whatever is happening now is not good for either of you, your family members, or your children. Stop trying to scrutinize or damage each other. The evidence you are sharing now will one day come back to bite you. I insist: Kabu, shut up. You are a man, a father, and an entrepreneur. Toka kwa kamera kwanza. This matter is too sensitive to be public right now,” she stated.
Drawing from her own experience, Akothee revealed that she has faced similar challenges, including being left husbandless with children after her ex convinced others she was at fault.
“Whatever is in court, keep it there. Hawa watu wa social media sio watu good. Remember, you will still need to share the kids, the family, and the business,” she advised.
Akothee concluded by urging the Kabus to handle their divorce with dignity, stating:
“Divorce doesn’t have to be ugly. Kama Big G imeisha utamu, TEMAAA KWA HESHIMAA.”
She expressed her support for Sarah Kabu, despite the circulating CCTV footage, declaring:
“#IstandwithSarah Until proved guilty. Certified Chief Officer of Failed Marriages. President of Single Mothers.”
Akothee’s candid advice underscores the importance of discretion in dealing with sensitive personal matters, especially when children and family are involved.
